The Irregular Tower

Situated in the heart of Desert Hot Springs, California, this project is designed to cater to a wealthy couple’s desires for a space that seamlessly blends an industrial atmosphere with nature, while also serving as a versatile performance venue.

In addition to its residential purposes, the building’s adaptable design allows for a diverse array of performances, ranging from fashion shows and music concerts to art exhibitions and various small-scale events.

Comprising two key elements, The Irregular Tower includes a fixed four-level primary structure for cultural events and living quarters. An expansive retractable metal screen envelops an adjacent plaza, effectively doubling the building’s size when needed.

At the front of the building, an exhibition area is available to showcase multiple artworks, while the rear section features a flexible tunnel-like stage for performances. The central area boasts a creative lounge for visitors, along with an elevated fashion runway that seemingly floats in the air.
